Hello Elk River Youth Lacrosse Families,
Here is your January 2021 Lacrosse Update:
Board Member Recruitment
The Elk River Youth Lacrosse Association is seeking new board members to help with the upcoming season. This a great way to get involved with your child’s activity and has some great benefits. Here are the key positions we need help filling:
Coaching Director: Connect with coaches to ensure they have everything they need to be successful. Help track coach required certifications and background checks.
Equipment Manager: Provide all coaches with a coaching bag and gear needed for the season. Order and organize the association’s equipment.
Secretary/Communications: Attend board meetings and take notes. Send e-mail communications to the association to keep them up to date as well as posting on Facebook/Social Media.
Scheduling Coordinator: Work with leagues to schedule games at our Oak Knoll facility. Work with coaches to build a practice schedule for district fields.
Registration Coordinator: Create season registrations on Sports Engine. Answer parent registration e-mails and questions regarding sign-up for lacrosse.
What experience or training do I need to join the board? No experience is required! We will help train you and get you started.
Are there any perks for volunteering? Yes, board members receive free or discounted registration and an apparel credit to buy gear from the gear store.
2021 Box Lacrosse Season Update
Anoka and Centennial arenas will not be offering turf this year due to the extended hockey seasons. With our practice facility being closed, the board made the tough decision to not offer Box Lacrosse programming in 2021. We have learned that other programs may be looking to fill teams. If you are interested in playing Box Lacrosse as a free agent, feel free to reach out to Anoka, STMA, or fill out the Homegrown Free Agency Form.
Save the Date April 10th for boy’s tryouts
Tryouts are scheduled for Saturday April 10th 2021 at Adrenaline Sports in Ramsey. Homegrown will be conducting our evaluations this year from 9:00am-11:00am for 12U players and 11:30am-1:30pm for 14U players.
Spring/Summer Field Lacrosse Registration Opening Soon
The board is planning to have registration and uniform ordering opening the first week of February. Watch your e-mail inbox or visit ERYLAX.com to learn about Spring/Summer field lacrosse registration.
